Testosterone, though much maligned, has many benefits too. The first time I saw my father after two years of his androgen deprivation therapy implant, I was shocked at how much he reminded me of a woman/man—the way he talked, decided things, his actual looks, his voice, his changed attitude about life, his very bent over posture…. I didn’t know about the alterations to his hormones, so I just thought this was his version of getting old.
